Oliver Hazard Perry Rhode Island

Empowered By The Sea, Rhode Islands Tall Ship

The Largest Civilian Sailing School in the United States, OHPRI was launched in 2015 and was named after Commodore Perry, a native of Rhode Island. 

They are committed to offering maritime, and marine trades focused training for students of all ages. 

Galveston Historic Seaport

1877 Elissa, The Tall Ship of Texas

The 1877 Elissa is one of only three ships of her kind in the world to still actively sail. She serves as the Official Tall Ship of Texas, a National Historic Landmark, and a symbol of the Gulf's Coast historic beginnings as a seaport and active waterfront. 

Galveston Historical Foundation staff and volunteers restored Elissa in 1982 after purchasing her from a scrapyard in Piraeus Harbor, Greece.
